To make professional knowledge, career support and genuine connection easier to find for women across the financial crime industry.
Women work across every part of financial crime, from first line operations and investigations to compliance, consulting, regulation and senior leadership.
Yet the support available can still feel fragmented. Technical knowledge often sits behind jargon. Career guidance can be generic. Networking spaces may focus on polished success stories while leaving out the everyday realities of building a demanding professional life.
Women in Financial Crime is being developed to bring those pieces together in one place.
Where the idea began
“The concept came from my own experience. There were times when I did not know who to turn to, who I could ask or where I could safely raise the questions that felt too basic to say out loud.”
Here, no genuine question is a stupid question. We hope to grow into a community that helps women find answers, learn from one another and feel less alone as they build their careers.
What we want to change
We want people entering the profession to understand the opportunities available to them. We want experienced women to have practical support as they progress, lead teams, change direction or return after time away.
We also want space for the parts of working life that do not appear in technical manuals. Confidence, difficult managers, health, mistakes, ambition, setbacks, mentoring and the moments that quietly change a career all belong in the conversation.
Who it is for
This platform is for women working in, studying or considering careers across anti money laundering, sanctions, fraud, compliance, financial crime risk, consulting, law enforcement and regulation.
It is intended to cross roles, sectors, countries and levels of experience. A graduate exploring her first AML role and an experienced MLRO should both be able to find something useful here.
